Jim Kukral: YouTube Rejected Me As A Partner

  • FreePSDLogo · 1 year ago
There are many good video hosting sites out there, I would not worry about it, if they do not want your content than fine, its their loss people will still follow your videos no matter where you host them.

Why did it take them two months to reject you and it took them 5 minutes to reject me? hmmmm. kidding.

What do you think about Flickr adding videos now? And why don't you start the Business Video Tube project?

I like the Flickr video stuff Greg. Why not start my own? You have any idea what the bandwidth bills are on streaming videos? :)

Too bad for YouTube. But at least they gave you the reason for rejection. I've been rejected by eBay and they told me that the reason is confidential, so they cannot discuss it with me.

Your videos are great and YouTube must be crazy not to accept you as a partner.

A question for you, Jim: Are you looking for a new service like YouTube but aimed at Business-related content? Or are you wanting YouTube to develop a channel aimed at the business audience?

For what I've seen, it seems like none of the video streamers have really well developed "program guides" for any of their content yet. The categories on all of them seem to be a little less than user friendly. I'd like to see them go back and rework how people surf their sites for content.

Keep up the great work...and start doing videos on the weekend so I have more to watch!

Anik, for business type of content... there really isn't a site for us. Opportunity?
  • Jim Kukral · 1 year ago
Mat N., Yes, looking for a Youtube Business channel, or something like that.

    Hi Jim,

There actually is. My company launched a site called Insight24 (http://www.Insight24.com) that reaches business and technology folks. Right now, we have 32 categories. I was planning to drop you an email and see if you would be interested in posting some of your content to our site. Unfortunately, not all your content fits our categories, but that may change in the future.

If you're interested, just drop me an email and I'm happy to chat with you offline about it.

    Best,
    Cece

Oops - forgot to add one more thing. We focus only on rich media content (webcasts/webinars, videos, and podcasts) and we don't have time limitations.
  • Jim Kukral · 1 year ago
Interesting site Cece. What is your policy on who owns the video I upload? So you're saying my content is a fit for you?
  • Cece Salomon-Lee · 1 year ago
You will always own the video contact that you upload. If you want us to take something down, we will. As for your content, I do believe that some of your content is definitely a fit, such as your recent videos on customer service and social marketing. It would be a case by case basis.

I also want to float an idea about promoting one or two of your videos so you can see the benefits. If you're interested, let me know.
