You don't have to host any videos if you use php melody. I've successfully used PHP Melody in a few projects and they were all worth it.

I have used MediaShare Suite and MyOwnVideosite. I like the security of hosting the MediaShare Suite PHP script on my own hosted site, but not being very adept at PHP, my site was hacked within two months. I have not had any problems with the hosted solution MyOwnVideoSite offers, however everyday I worry that they will pull an Eyespot see ya and leave me without a site. I really think we are still in the infant stages of web 2.0. All of these sites are going to have to come up with realistic business plans as venture capital vanishes. They are going to have to gear themselves to mobil technology such as the I-phone, advertising overlays for their players like Veeple offers and a system for targeting the banner ads to the users profile.
