YouTube wants to sell ads around the video as well as in. So don't you think they want you to go to YouTube?

I know how much they charge for advertising on YouTube. You can't even start a conversation unless you say 100k, and then that's a conversation that's not that important to them. You start talking half a million bucks and they start to really listen.

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

If every "business" or "website" using video to drive traffic to their website and displaying a link in the video.... should welcome the sharing.

If my video is displayed on other websites and anyone watching "My" video, where ever it is displayed still sees my information and a link to my website.... wouldn't this be a "Good" thing?

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

Because perhaps you're using their video to help your website profit? I think some brands are putting their videos on YT and then freaking out about it for some reason. I'm not sure why.

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

Last month I went through YouTube and picked out a variety of video to post on my website. Not my own content in the video, but helpful for the blog reader.

These were mostly from "Expert Village". I noticed today that none of these videos would play on my website.... because they suddenly decided to "Embedding disabled by request".

Why would any website decide that sharing there video is a "bad business" decision?

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

Well, my friend Sam will say they bought YouTube to just head off the competition, but would you pay 4.5 billion for something just to block a competitor?

There's got to be a plan for Youtube business, eventually?

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

Me too! Why they don't have a business section is hard to understand. Considering their plans to monetize it, I'm sure they'd make more money off business selling blue widgets, than another skateboarder leaving tooth fragments on the sidewalk.

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

Great point. I wouldn't think of running a youtube video geared toward business. All of the popular stuff is based on entertaining the masses. I think a business section is a brilliant idea nad could really open up the functionality of the website.

Re: Why Does YouTube Hate Business Content?

This is a most awesome idea.
