Jim Kukral: What’s In A Name? Sometimes Everything

Great point Jim, and well-executed on your part. I know my blog at www.pissd.com has gotten a lot more attention than if I had used the full name - Personal Injury, Social Security Disability.

    Ha, great name!

That is so true, and keeping that in mind, the other day I was thinking of registering the name googlesucks.com, only to find that it was already taken, by none other than Google. Damn, I could have had so much fun with that site.

As for unusual names, my loadofbullshit.com gets quite a few hits. It's surprising how many people use the word as part of their search string.

That's an interesting strategy by Google. I suppose the best way to silence the opposition is to buy them out :o)

Always liked this idea (that's why initially I sent you an email and gave you feedback -- always thought it was smart). Great stuff, glad you're getting exposure for it.

I agree. Everything starts with the name. It's definitely the trigger. You'd want to build an instant recognition and rapport with the readers (in this case, site visitors) even just with the title.
