I know this is an April Fool's post, but I do wish people would stop asking me to transcribe the poo. BTW, glad to hear you have gotten yourself an ukelele. The hubby and I use ours for down-home urban hootenannies.

With Digg, you can't force it to the front page. I think you should still make your posts diggable, because there's always that chance of getting traffic from the site, but I wouldn't waste time having my friends Digg stuff for me. Good content reaches Diggs front page. If you have good content then your posts will be dugg.

It's awfully nice of you to continue giving people Diggs, even though you don't like the site. I'll have to remember that you'll give Diggs when asked. ;)

I'm not a big fan of Digg, but it's definitely got some potential. To each his own.

I agree wholeheartedly on the Facebook (and other site) annoyances. I block 99% of all application invitations I get (it gets pretty quiet after a while on that front once you've blocked all the popular apps). I disabled pokes and even had the wall disabled for a while, but then found to actually be useful enough to leave on.

This carries over to Digg as well. The way that Digg handles friends leaves a lot to be desired. There's really no benefit to friending a person on Digg other than to spam them with Shouts advertising whatever you want them to Digg up. For this reason, I carefully examine the friend requests I get through Digg. Most that I get show recent activity of friending several hundred people at once and sending the same shout to each of them ("Check out this great story: www.digg.com/some_dumb_stor...")

Yeah, but how do you really feel? This is similar to Facebook, I don't get it. I can get with it helping keeping people keep in contact with distant friends and relatives, past classmates, whatever. But I don't need to be super poked, smiled at, kissed, waved at, oh snapped and all that BS everyday. Oh, look, if I send one more drink to 5 more friends I can send a new drink. Silly, pointless, childish...I could go on.

I disagree with your perception of Digg. I think it's a great tool for finding interesting reading material on the Internet. I do agree though that asking others to Digg your article is annoying. Point me to the article itself, not your Digg page. If I like it, I'll Digg it. If not, I won't. Asking me to Digg it usually results in my clicking the Bury button instead.
