Jim Kukral: Personal Branding Tips - Guylights

  • ImJustCreative · 1 year ago
Having an identifier is what it all about. Long as you take it on the chin, when it becomes a laughing at you rather than laughing or 'applauding' with you kind of thing.

Do you have somehting against hi-lights, or is guy-lites just a way to create a more masculine affinity to it?

I have to say, well I don't, but I will, I had hilights in my teens. But several years ago decided to dye my hair black. In the process suffered from hideous scalp burns from the juice used. My whole scalp turned into one soggy gunky mess of blisters and weeping sores. Wake up in the morning with my head stuck to the pillow, and each day, i would feel this weeping slide down my neck onto my back.

Just a story to bear in mind if you are sensitive to these things. :)
The point was, it got me noticed as the guy who had a pussy head. Not what I had in mind.

Glad it works for you though.

Standing out is generally good, although nature has decided to give me grey highlights, rather than forcing me to pay for guylights...

Bit off comment here but thought I'd just mention something I guess you probably all ready know about!! That's me, always so quick off the mark...

But if on the small chance you didn't... Did you know about this bringabuddy.net widget?

Been seeing various 'sales pitch comments' being left on various blogs that I read, including mine. For me I didn't appreciate the blatant cheek of it, so I didn't publish the comment. Didn't add anything to my post, just detracted from it. But I guess they get points for trying... :0)

Similar to yours in many ways, in other way's not at all.

Could we be seeing a Widge war here?!?!?!? :0)

Opps. That was clever, including a link to their site. Feel free to remove it, I just didn't even think it would turn into a hyper link.

Great post. I don't think most people realize how important their personal brand is. If you don't have one, you are pretty much a commodity. With job security being at an all time low, smart folks are making sure that they build a personal reputation. It's as valuable as the brand-name trademarks that companies have, such as Pepsi, Coke, etc.

My branding is a little bit more permanent, wouldn't you say Jim? Did you see the Gorilla Tattoo at last year's Affiliate Summit East?
