  • Jim, you are right.
There is no measurement unit of Win. If you take my example with painful physical challenge for last 2 month, recently I have finished my WordPress theme project Fecund. In your word it's a big win. Yeah! It's a big win for me.
    Thanks for big motivation!
  • Good to hear. Thanks for stopping by.
  • Excellent advice. Sometimes we all focus on the big picture and lose sight of the small steps it takes to get there. Small victories are still victories!
  • Hi Jim,

Still hunkered down, waiting for that first win. Maybe got off track with all of the blogger.com blogs, (now at nine!) Wearing all of the hats, and mastering none is probably a mistake when starting an online business.

There is so much 'Get Rich Online PPC info-dreck" out there, information overload is a constant threat to focusing on key parts of the task of becoming successful.

I'm looking down the road, at the day job again in the short term, as I am not as expert as the guru's who have years of experience in "what works" in online marketing.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm feeling a bit discouraged with the current financial environment. Trying to position myself to take full advantage of the 'turnaround" once it begins.

    Respectfully,

    Nicholas Chase
  • You'll get ther Nicholas. It takes time and hard work. Everyone keeps telling you that, but it's true. Unfortunately. Keep on keeping on.
  • Jim, great post as usual! Though I'd challenge that it isn't just needing to get that one win, whether small or big, it's grasping the win and turning it into an even bigger win which is most important. The small wins, as you mention, give you motivation to keep driving full steam ahead. However, if you're oblivious to the small wins or don't seize the moment when it does happen then the internet is just going to move on to the next person who is a little hungrier than you.

I try to celebrate all wins, small or large, and look for ways to maximize them and turn them into even bigger wins down the road!
  • I think anykind of encouragement is important. It can be a kind word from a colleague, a compliment from a boss, a small success, a large success, in fact any sort of positive feedback. Everyone need encouragement, some more than others.
