  • Hmmm, don't know what I think about this one - but you are right, why fight google. people spend too much time complaining about what they don't think is fair, instead of fixing the issue and becoming valuable.
  • Exactly.
  • Great post, Jim. I gave up on fighting the "big G" years ago and it's actually helped my blog.
  • This reminds me of a panel I saw where someone asked if Google is overstepping their bounds and everyone agreed that Google was. I don't agree. Google is a business and they can set the terms of doing business with them. However, I also believe that situations like this breed innovation. You don't want to do business the way Google does, so what do you do? People like Ted Murphy, IZEA CEO, are offering alternative services to page rank, and despite his network wide Google slap, his company is growing. Will it work? Time will tell. They got a pro wrestler to be governor so anything really is possible.
  • I am on the same page Mike.
  • Yes, google owns the universe, but fortunately Google guys are the good guys :)
  • Let other people fight Google, meanwhile I will ride the Google wave straight to the bank.

As far as Google not liking SEO's, I think that claim is more opinion than fact. My website for my SEO business (Website Breakthrough) ranks on page one of Google for the terms "SEO services" and "SEO consultant". I have the word SEO all over my site. I get all of my new clients from these rankings. What am I missing here? I'm only feeling Google love.
  • Best not to take on Google just work alongside it... give Google what they want... quality fresh content for their index and they will love you for it... Google is a puppy dog really...
  • I am sure there can be a consenus in this matter, I mean there have been bigger issues that have been solved.

The fact is both the parties should realise that they can result in a lot of use to the users and a consensus would be great. There is a future i am sure.
