Jim, will do our best to save the day:)
We launched a new design last week. Just simply added some top video and movie stuff to the homepage(our users search a lot of movies/vids). Felt like time for a new look and feel b/c we had not made any change to the look ever.
I like Mark's idea about the vertical blog search, that could be very useful to people that search specific categories.
We really are trying to combat the splogs. I think we will probably just stop accepting new blogspot blogs this week(for the time being), something we have had to do in the past.
I look forward to speaking with you about ways to better the blog search space.
I agree, I can't believe how bad blog search is. I find it amazing how bad Google's is. And then how bad it stays. And how Ask, Yahoo, MSN don't take advantage of this. Technorati for all there problems is still the best in my opinion. And as bad as Google's is I think they are next best. I wish somebody would do it well. I am perfectly happy if that would be Icerocket but they have not impressed me so far. I did look at it again just now and it seems better but still not great - still I will try it more...
